Standard Calc
A notepad that does the arithmetic as you type.
Write a line of plain text and the answer appears beside it. Variables, units, percentages and dates work the way you would write them on paper.

What it does
- Plain text in, answers out
- Type "Lunch was 20% of 150 dollars" and the result column shows 30. A line with nothing to calculate stays a note.
- Variables
- Write "hourly rate = $20" once. Every line below it can use hourly rate by name.
- Units and conversions
- "5 km in miles" gives 3.1069 miles. "$5/second -> $/day" gives $432,000/day. Units cancel the way they do on paper.
- Dates and durations
- "today + 3 weeks" gives a date. A shared sheet shows dates and times in each reader's own time zone.
- Totals
- Write "total" under a run of numbers and it adds up the results directly above it.
- Sharing
- A sheet is private until you share it, either with people you invite by email or with anyone who has the link. Readers see it change while you type, and making it private again retires the link for good.
